Terms of use
Last updated: November 2, 2026
Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using Waterline, Marco or this website. By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these terms.
About TriLumen Systems
TriLumen Systems is a sole proprietorship in northeastern Pennsylvania, owned by Thomas Rose. It makes Waterline and Marco. These Terms apply to Waterline, Marco and this website at www.waterlinesoftware.com (collectively, the “Services”). In these Terms, “TriLumen Systems,” “we” and “us” mean TriLumen Systems. When these Terms say “pool,” that includes a spa or hot tub you record in Marco.
About Our Services
Waterline is a subscription CRM for pool builders, pool service companies and spa dealers. It runs at app.waterlinesoftware.com and at the company web address that can come with a plan (such as yourcompany.waterlinesoftware.com), and it includes Waterline AI. Businesses that subscribe also accept our Subscription Agreement.
Marco is our free app for pool owners, on the web at marco.waterlinesoftware.com, with an iPhone app to follow. In Marco you can:
- Record your pool (size, surface, sanitizer, zip code and, if you choose, address) and your water tests
- See what to add to your water and how much
- Ask Marco questions in an AI chat (“Ask Marco”)
- Ask Marco to find a Waterline pool company for a project (“Find a pro”)
- Choose to get offers from Waterline pool companies near you
- Share your pool and tests with a pool company you already work with
- Follow jobs a pool company shares with you
Not Professional Advice
Our Services are informational tools, not licensed professional services. What Marco tells you to add, answers from Ask Marco, and anything Waterline AI drafts are:
- Calculated guidance based on the readings and pool details you enter, not professional advice
- Not a substitute for advice from a qualified pool professional, or from a doctor, electrician or other licensed professional where one is needed
- Not a promise that your water is safe to swim in, or that a product or amount is right for your pool, surface or equipment
- Only as good as the readings and details you give. Test kits, strips and meters vary, and a wrong pool size or reading gives a wrong amount
- Not a promise or assurance about the result of any treatment, repair or project
Always follow the label on any product you use. Where the label and Marco differ, follow the label. Check with a qualified pool professional before you act on a reading that looks unusual, before a large correction, and any time you're unsure.
Pool Chemical and Swimming Safety
Pool chemicals can cause fires, explosions, toxic gas, and burns to skin, eyes and lungs if they are mixed, stored or handled the wrong way. When you use them:
- Read and follow every product label, including the amount, the protective gear it calls for, and how long to wait before swimming
- Never mix chemicals with each other. Add chemicals to water, never water to chemicals, unless the label says otherwise
- Add one product at a time, and let it circulate as the label directs before you add another
- Wear the gloves and eye protection the label calls for, and work in fresh air
- Store chemicals as the label directs: closed, dry, cool, apart from each other, and out of reach of children and pets
- Keep everyone out of the water while you treat it, and wait as long as the label says before anyone swims
Whether the water is ready to swim in, and whether anyone swims, is your decision. Marco can't see your pool, test your water or watch swimmers. Nothing in our Services replaces watching swimmers, especially children, or the fences, covers, drain safety and other safety measures your pool needs. If someone swallows a pool chemical or gets it in their eyes or on their skin, follow the first-aid directions on the label and call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222, or 911 in an emergency.
Ask Marco
Ask Marco is an AI chat. Its answers are written by an AI model and can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, even when they sound sure. Check anything important against the product label or with a pool professional before you rely on it. Ask Marco has daily limits on how much you can use it, and those limits may change. See our Privacy Policy for how chats are processed.
Find a Pro
When you ask Marco to find a pro, Marco asks about your project and writes it up for you to check. Nothing is sent until you tick the box agreeing to share it. Then we send the project, the pool's zip code, the address if you added one, and your name, email and phone number (if you give one) to one Waterline pool company near you that does that kind of work. If that company passes, we send it to the next Waterline pool company near you. If no Waterline pool company near you is taking new work yet, we keep your project and send it when one is.
Pool companies are independent businesses that use Waterline. They are not our employees or agents, and we do not endorse or vouch for them or their work, or promise that they are licensed or insured. Check that yourself before you hire anyone. Quotes, contracts, prices, work, warranties and disputes are between you and the pool company. The company may contact you about your project at the email or phone number you give.
Offers From Pool Companies
Offers are off unless you turn them on. At sign-up, Marco shows an unticked box that says “Send me offers and tips from Waterline and pool companies near me.” You can tick it then, or turn offers on later in Account. When offers are on:
- Waterline pool companies whose service area covers your pool's zip code can see your first name, your zip code and your pool details (size, surface, sanitizer, and whether it's indoor or outdoor). They never see your email, phone number or address
- Those companies can send you offers through Waterline. You get at most 2 offers in any 30 days from all companies together, and no more than 1 of those from any one company
- You see offers in Marco and by email
- Only if you tap “I'm interested” on an offer does that one company get your name, email and phone number (if you give one), as a lead, so it can contact you about the offer. Tapping “No thanks” sends nothing
- The same choice covers tips and offers from Waterline
Offers are made by the pool company that sends them, not by us. We don't promise any offer, price or the work behind it.
You can turn offers off at any time in Account, or with the link in every offer email. Turning offers off stops new offers and stops pool companies from seeing you. It doesn't take back details you already sent a company by tapping “I'm interested”; contact that company if you want it to stop contacting you. We keep a record of each yes and no you give, with the wording you saw and the date. Turning offers on is never required to use Marco. See our Privacy Policy for more.
Sharing With Your Pool Company
If a pool company shares a job with you, you can follow it in Marco. You can also choose to let a pool company you already work with see your pool and your water tests. You pick the company, and you can stop sharing at any time. Your relationship with that company, and its work, are between you and the company.
Professional and Enterprise Plans
Waterline Professional, Enterprise and Enterprise Plus plans are for pool builders, pool service companies, spa dealers and other businesses. They are for business use by the account holder and its authorized team members, and include fair-use limits on AI features and other usage. Professional is $100 a month or $1,000 a year. Enterprise is $399 a month or $3,990 a year and includes 5 users, with extra users at $59 a month each. Enterprise Plus is $799 a month or $7,990 a year and includes 10 users, with extra users at $49 a month each. Enterprise and Enterprise Plus have 1-year terms. New accounts can start with a 1-week free trial. Waterline charges a 1% fee on invoice payments on Professional and Enterprise, and none on Enterprise Plus, on top of the card processor's standard fee. Optional setup is $500 for Enterprise and $1,000 for Enterprise Plus, waived on annual plans. Enterprise may come with an order form that applies alongside these Terms and takes priority where the two differ. Prices may change with notice. Accounting files and integrations are provided as a convenience, and you are responsible for checking them with your accountant before you rely on them. Our Subscription Agreement has the full terms for these plans.
